Farzana Sharmin (Ms)


Ms Farzana Sharmin has been a practising lawyer at the Supreme Court of Bangladesh since 2012 but she had originally enrolled and started her legal career as an advocate at the District Court in 2008. She has acquired specialist expertise both in Criminal litigation and in Judicial Review of Constitutional Law in addition to other areas of law.


She has enlisted herself as an English speaking lawyer with the English Speaking Lawyers’ list retained by the British High Commission in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She also has been admitted to membership of the following International / National Legal Organisations:

2. Subscribed member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple
(England)
3. AsiaSil
4. Dhaka Bar Association


She obtained two undergraduate degrees in law, one from the University of Dhaka and the other from the University of London. She also has two Master’s degrees in law, one from the University of Dhaka and the other from the BPP University College in London.


Although she originates from a family of politicians, the daughter of a former Cabinet Minister but she has a preference for social work rather than political activity.


She has been appointed as a legal advisor to many Banks, Insurance Companies and private enterprises.


She has robust academic qualifications from both her secondary and tertiary education and this has enabled her to secure a position as one of the Associates at the renowned and prestigious Chambers in Bangladesh, ‘Barrister Moudud Ahmed and Associates’. She is now progressing her legal career as a partner of RIGHTS Chambers.
